BAK, Louise. Ginko Kitchen. Toronto: Coach House Books, 1997. Limited Edition. Trade Paperback. Inscribed by Many Authors. 153x221mm (oblong). 115pp. Fine.
One of 300 copies issued. An interesting copy, as it has been inscribed and signed by many members of the Toronto literary community at that time, including Stuart Ross, Lillian Necakov, Darren Wershler-Henry, Christian Bok, Nick Power, Lynn Donahue, Margaret Christakos, Hal Niedzviecki, Louis Bak herself, and others, about 30 signatures/inscriptions in total, presumably done at the launch of the book. Curiously, the inscriptions are both to Louise and to publisher Stan Bevington, who had injured himself (a knee injury) in a snowmobile accident around the time of the publication and couldn't be present at the launch -- as such there seems to be some confusion as to why the book was being inscribed by the parties who inscribed it. At any rate, an interesting piece of Coach House ephemera, as it is one of the earlier books issued by the resurrected version of the press.
