One of 26 [of 724] copies lettered [this is copy 'V'] and signed by the poet on the limitations page. Steve Carey, who died relatively young in 1989, was marginally associated with both the New York School and the West Coast Renaissance. He published only a handful of books and was a terrible promoter of his own work; as a result he is practically unknown. Obscurity, however, is not a great judge of poetry.
